Aussie Record 2012

Most Skydives in a day

Ookoonono (the Australian 2 Way Canopy Formations team 2007 - to present) plan to smash the current Australian record for the most skydives done in a day, by completing 150 skydives in one day at SkydiveOz's Moruya Drop Zone, NSW South Coast, on the 13th January, 2012. If the weather is unsuitable on the 13th then the attempt will be moved to the 16th January, 2012.

The record attempt will generate lots of positive publicity for the sport that we love so much.  The event will also be a fundraiser for team training and competition commitments for an upcoming assault on the 2012 World Canopy Formation Championships in Dubai.  Funds raised will also be donated to the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter service operating on the NSW South Coast.

Ookoonono team skydivers Michael Vaughan and Jules McConnel will perform the skydives and will be assisted by a team of packers, pilots, and aircraft from Skydive Oz.

The Plan

Tim Stevens and  Steve Boekel made 100 skydives at Bairnsdale airfield commencing at 12:07 pm on 6 February 1993. The skydives were completed in 22 hours and 34 minutes. Six sets of gear were used by Tim.

The aircraft used was Cessna 182 VH-CKZ.
